11 PILLARS OF INNER BALANCE

1 PILLAR-BE PRESENT

“The way you do anything is the way you do everything”
With that in mind, think about the many things you do each day and ask yourself whether you’re present for each of them. If not, aim to become present by focusing on one thing at a time.

2. PILLAR-FREE YOUR MIND

Organise and free your mind by letting go of what is keeping your mind full on a daily basis. Listen to music Watch something that makes you laugh. Empty your mental office, meditate

3. PILLAR-HAVE FUN

Do more of what makes you feel joyful. Surrounding yourself with those who bring you joy and zest will help. You don’t know what tomorrow will bring; make today count by saying yes to opportunities and fun when they present themselves.

4. PILLAR-BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF

If you have to disappoint others or yourself, be honest with yourself about it. Check that what you’re choosing is in congruence with who you are. This will help you sleep well at the end of every day.

“Our body knows when we are in balance and everything works as one harmonious whole”.

5. PILLAR-BE BRAVE

Show up and be brave. Nobody ever regretted being brave. If it doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to, at least you’ll have learned something. Just dust yourself off and start again. And consider this: what if it turns out the way you want it to? What then?

6. PILLAR-BE CURIOUS

The moment we stop dreaming we start dying inside. Make time to dream and imagine all those things that make you happy. Be curious and explore. When we allow curiosity into our lives, we wake up to a world of possibilities. This is what puts a twinkle in our eyes, a smile on our faces and gives us the urge to make something happen. You can make many things happen.

7. PILLAR-TAKE ACTION

The only way to get somewhere different is by taking action, after all, nothing happens if nothing happens. Move your body, exercise. Move your mind, meditate. Move your soul, go where there is love. Move your projects forward by taking some baby steps then slowly but surely following each step with another.

8. PILLAR-REST

Make space in your life to be alone. Prioritise your well-being, listen to your body and honour the time you need for rest.

Sleep well.

9. PILLAR-BE YOURSELF

Wherever you go, wherever you live, never compromise on what is essential for you – your family, your friends, and your core values. These are essential to prevail in the essence of who you are and enable you to be yourself.

10. PILLAR-SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OTHERS

The best way to maintain your mental health is by unloading what troubles you. Allow yourself to lean on others by sharing, ranting, and talking. Even if you only speak to one person, it’s better out than in.

11. PILLAR-BE EASY ON YOURSELF

Flexibility is key.
Be flexible with yourself and others, and allow plenty of room for mistakes; both yours and those of others. Don’t take anything personally and forgive yourself every day for what you see as errors. Start every day afresh.
