Q: What is a good yoga exercise for making my legs stronger? I work in retail and have to stand on my feet most of the day. I am not stationary but do move around and wear good footwear. L. Banks – Lichfield
A: Some good postures to try and which build up stamina, strength and help keep you grounded, especially for someone like you who spends a lot of time standing include natarajasana (lord of the dance), virasana (hero pose) and vrukshasna (scorpio). Also you can integrate into your routine virabhadrasana (warrior pose) which is another ideal yoga posture to really stretch out tension from the muscles and make the legs stronger. If you master these poses you can even try them when you have small breaks at work. You should ideally experience noticeable improvements in the strength of your legs in just a few sessions.
