Charlie Smith – You Yoga
Our happiness lies within us and in order to achieve true happiness we must work from the inside out! Yoga has given me tools to see who I really am, my desires, dreams and a direction that feels like going home!
After spending 15-years dipping in and out of yoga I finally came to resonate with it fully about three-years ago. I knew something was missing and it wasn’t about getting fit or healthier or thinner, it was about getting closer to the person I really wanted to be.
I am a fully qualified Seasonal Yoga Teacher -200 hour level. I have studied personal training and am a healthy eating enthusiast and cook. I work continually on bettering myself both mentally, physically and emotionally. Yoga has enabled me to have a deeper level of self-awareness and has shown me to take responsibility for my own happiness.
My teaching style is a strong core based Vinyasa flow, learnt through my experiences of many teachers and my passion to connect with our bodies. My training covered Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga, pranayama, mantra, anatomy and physiology, meditation, chakras and nadis as well as the philosophy of yoga. I teach very much from how the body feels as it moves and I try to blend those feelings into the asana sequence of my class.
On a more personal note I try to meditate daily and incorporate breathwork into all aspects of my yoga; as well as incorporating the yamas and niyamas into my life in some way. I continue to study the history behind the true spirit of yoga and aim to incorporate the spiritual as well as physical into my teaching.
I teach in yoga studios and individual 1-2-1 practice, my love would be to open a rambling yoga studio in the woods somewhere or by the sea.
