Dear YOGA Magazine readers,

February has arrived, and with it the day that we commemorate love—St. Valentine’s Day! In true YOGA Magazine fashion, we have given this occasion our own unique spin, as you will see.

I’ve written about Tantric Yoga in The Season of Love, including practical exercises you can do with your partner at home. Mary-Lou Aitkin continues the theme in her article A Weekend of Virtual Tantra, summarizing an in-depth online course she took. Finally, in Tantric Sex and Menopause, Diana Richardson and Janet McGeever share how this practice of “slow sex” can be especially beneficial for women as they age.

Still on the topic of love, Amy Mercer writes about the results of a recent study about Love Under Lockdown, and you can also read about Lance Dane’s great book, The Complete Illustrated Kama Sutra. The Spiritual Psychology of Love, by transpersonal psychotherapist and meditation teacher Lena Franklin, goes into detail on three aspects of spiritual love as a daily practice. And if you’ve ever wondered about the various soul mates and connections and what it all means, Jeff Glattstein unpacks it all for us in Discovering Soul Relations.

It’s not all about love—in Yoga, Wellness and Where it’s All Headed, Marie Nicola and Chrissy Newton, hosts of AltPop.Repeat, discuss the rise of yoga in pop culture with wellness philanthropist Faith Hunter in the first of a three-part series. Savina Atai continues to teach us about face yoga in her article Train Your Face: Create Your Destiny.

In The Best Ways to Exercise During Lockdown and at Home, Cornel Chin gets simple and practical with tips that I know will be helpful for us all. And two yoga practitioners share how their lives have been changed by it—Finding Yourself, Changing Yourself by Christian DeAntonio, and Healing and Becoming My Own Hero Through Yoga by Dorian Christian Baucum. Both are moving personal accounts that touched me deeply and are well worth your time.

Don’t miss “My God is Love!”, Victor M. Parachin’s meaningful article about the life of Sri Aurobindo Ghose, the great Indian poet, philosopher, and mystic.

Adamantia Velonis writes about 9 Surprising Ways Mindful Cooking Supports Your Yoga Practice Off the Mat, and regular YOGA Magazine contributor Marlene Watson-Tara interviews Matthew Kenney in The UK’s Passionate Vegan Activist Meets US Star Plant-based Chef! We’re so lucky to have such great contributors and writers!

Regular features of course include What’s Hot, Yoga Sutras, Ask Yogi Maharaj, and Vedic Astrology. This month there’s also a lucky draw competition you can enter to win an EX-BELT! To learn more about all of these great articles, just turn the page….

Love, live & let live !
