This month we feature some simple, yet highly effective poses and yogic techniques to help reduce stress, and we also focus on balancing Anahata, the heart chakra to cultivate unconditional love, healing energy and inner wisdom.
US teacher Heidi Kristoffer provides some excellent poses to target the ‘thutt’ – the latest fitness buzzword which describes the area where the thigh meets the butt, and there’s a philosophical and practical look at how to drink water for optimal hydration.
Our guest teacher, Nicola Jane Hobbs, guides us through three poses, Navasana (Boat pose), Pincha Mayurasana (Feathered Peacock pose / Forearm Stand) and Mayurasana (Peacock Pose) and a Dancing Warrior sequence, which combines synchronised breathing and flowing moves to warm up the body, strengthen the shoulders and release tension from the hips.
