Veganism is taking off in the UK, with new stats showing that over half a million people now follow a vegan diet . For many, vegan events are the best starting point if you’re vegan curious, an aspiring vegan or already enjoying the benefits of this trendy lifestyle. There are now dozens of vegan festivals springing up across the country. One of the longest running and biggest of these is the prestigious West Midlands Vegan Festival taking place this October…
Now in its 9th year, the West Midlands Vegan Festival on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October is the longest running exclusively vegan festival in the UK. With attractions on all 4 floors plus outdoor stalls, it’s the perfect introduction to the vegan lifestyle. The huge two day extravaganza offers all you need for compassionate, healthy, eco-friendly living. You don’t have to be veggie or vegan to attend, everyone is welcome. It’s the best place to see why people are increasingly adopting this accessible lifestyle.
Organiser of the West Midlands Vegan Festival, Kevin White, comments, “The growth of veganism in recent years has been phenomenal. People are no longer scared off by the ‘V’ word! Most people now seem to know vegans, either in their family, friends or work colleagues, and they read about veganism everywhere. These curious non-vegans are increasingly flocking to the WMVF (and the countless other vegan events) to taste all the delights of vegan cuisine and be inspired by the array of talks on the vegan benefits for health and nutrition, environment and animals. Veganism seems to have passed a tipping point and is unstoppable now.”
“The 2015 festival was our best ever, with over 120 fantastic stalls, 40 inspiring talks and nearly 5,000 visitors over the weekend, half of them non-vegans. 80% of non-vegans described the quality and taste of the food at the event as excellent. 72% said they would include more vegan food in their diets and 25% said they were either going or thinking of going vegan.”
“With many exciting new vegan companies launching all the time, our 2016 festival is going to include more mouth-watering food and ethical products than ever before. It’s never been easier to go vegan and my event shows you how.”
The Festival will include over 120 stalls including clothes, makeup, skincare and food, 10 cookery demos, live entertainment throughout the weekend, an all vegan bar, fun kids activities, raffles, competitions, free food to try, and even an after party on the Saturday.
The West Midlands Vegan Festival takes place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October 2016 from 10am to 6pm both days, at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, North Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1RQ. Admission is just £1 (under 16’s free), payable at the door.
