What to expect at a Nine Lives Yoga Rave?
On arrival at All Saint’s Church, yoga ravers will be warmly welcomed by Nine Lives Yoga hosts who will encourage ravers to get creative with UV body paint to add the rave-scene touches to their yoga attire. The evening kicks off with a humandala partner yoga flow that connects the whole room together followed by a dynamic vinyasa flow yoga sequence with playful dance elements led by host Cat Duval and accompanied by Ama Zee to lead into ecstatic dance and with Egg resident DJ Mike Nixon and conscious DJ Ranjit Baby on the decks.
As the tempo of the music gradually builds so does the pace of yoga until the crowd is encouraged to let loose on the yoga mat dance floor for a joyful conscious rave up. Yoga lovers get to experience the rhythm of the bass and bass lovers experience the rhythm of the breath.
There will be live performances from stilt walking and contortion from Blind Pig and Circus Street Spinners throughout the night and incredible psychedelic UV backdrops from Cognitive Dissidents. Yogis can also boost their raving energy with healthy smoothies, raw chocolate and maybe even a free massage. The night closes with a group humandala and a restful meditation. And all this with fantastic 5.4kW Traction Sound system provided by Brighton Sound System.

As Cat Duval, founder of Nine Lives Yoga Rave says: “Brighton balances being a vibrant party town, as well as a conscious healthy living place to be, it is time these two worlds combined and yoga lovers got to let their hair down and ravers discovered you can party without added enhancements! Set in a majestic church the yoga rave combines dance music, collective yoga practice and a special concoction of performers, community and a whole lotta soul!”
