Sybille Gebhardt

I was enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dancing in Munich at the age of three, where I trained in ballet for the following 16-years.  Throughout this time I realised the importance of developing and maintaining a healthy body and the direct correlation with owning a healthy mind, and this stirred my passion for healthy living.

My journey into yoga and naturopathy started in my early twenties, when recurrent health issues forced me to look beyond traditional medicine.  Though I was perceived to be healthy, my career as a model meant I was leading a very unhealthy lifestyle.  My yoga practice added structure and calm to my life and my growing knowledge of naturopathy further complimented my yoga practice and ensured my skin looked great, my eyes were clear, the immune system robust and I enjoyed a sense of overall wellbeing.

Inspired by the yogic teachings of Faustomaria Dorelli, I trained at the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Centre in India and furthered my studies with the British Wheel of Yoga.  I then embarked on a diploma in naturopathic nutrition under the teaching of Barbara Wren, followed by a B.Sc. (Hons) in Health Sciences at the University of Westminster.

Today, I teach the importance of developing and maintaining a yoga practice along with a naturopathic approach to life. Clients have benefited from learning this approach, which has seen them improve both their internal and external outlook on healthy living.  With over 12 years experience, I now teach a form of Hatha yoga that perfectly compliments naturopathic philosophy at Embody Wellness in Vauxhall, where I also treat patients.  I offer a range of treatments such as dietary therapy, herbal medicine, lymphatic drainage and hydrotherapy.

I have recently developed a programme for cleansing the body, now available on my first yoga DVD, ‘Total Body Cleanse’.  The 90 minute programme is divided into six sequences designed for those with a busy lifestyle.  It teaches specialised techniques on how to cleanse the entire body using a specific combination of yoga asana, breathing techniques and mindfulness meditation.
