by Helen Wambach, Ph.D.

In Life Before Life, psychologist Helen Wambach, PhD, documents 750 cases of past-life group hypnotherapy sessions. In an effort to rule out false memories, fantasies and wishful thinking, Wambach devised a protocol where she chose time- specific periods in the past and asked respondents where they were and what they were doing during that time. As expected, some respondents reported experiences while others reported nothing, prompting the question, did they report nothing because they were between lives?

Wambach reasoned that if she asked 400 subjects a question about a specific time and place and received a sizable percentage of similar answers from subjects who at least consciously weren’t aware of the information they were reporting, that was something worth investigating further.

The bigger questions, while intriguing, were not as evidential as the mundane questions, but collectively the data obtained makes for. fascinating and compelling reading for anyone pondering the question of reincarnation.

by Gail Parker, Ph.D.

Showing ways in which restorative yoga can contribute to healing emotional wounds, this book invites yoga teachers, therapists and practitioners to consider the psychological impact of ethnic and race-based stress and trauma. It aids in the process of uncovering, examining, and healing one’s own emotional wounds and offers insight into avoiding wounding or re-wounding others.

The book describes how race-based traumatic stress differs from PTSD and why a more targeted approach to treatment is necessary, as well as what can trigger it. It also considers the implications of an increasingly racially and ethnically diverse and global yoga community, as well as the importance of creating conscious yoga communities of support and connection, where issues of race and ethnicity are discussed openly, non-defensively and constructively.

By providing a therapeutic structure that assists those directly and indirectly impacted by ethnic and race-based stress and trauma, Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma provides valuable tools for aiding in the processing of stressful experiences and in trauma recovery.

Sunbird, Renée

There are 7 mantras on the album – one for each chakra. The elephant god Ganesha leads us to the river goddess Ganga and on to Shiva as the fire dancer Nataraja. We come to the powerful and devoted monkey god Hanuman and from there to the compassionate Tara. The Om Purnam mantra allows us to see the fullness of life. The grand finale is the Ganga Stotra – a praise for Mother Ganga, written by Shri Adi Shankara. During the quarantine Renée composed this song and combined it with a Ganga mantra. The entire album is fresh, profound and provides peace, tranquility and ease, especially in this time. All mantras are her own compositions, the music was arranged by the great producer Thomas Barquee.
