Yoga and Self Love

I have witnessed on so many occasions that the mention of yoga inspires a common reaction such as I can’t touch my toes, Tm not flexible enough or yoga isn’t for me. Much more than a workout, the many physical benefits of yoga are amazing. It has this magical way of making you connect and fall in love with yourself, which is very appropriate for the season of love… It is true. yoga allows you to peel away all the layers and brings you back to the true essence of you. I believe that the more we cultivate a yoga practice the more we will fall in love with ourselves as we become more comfortable in our own skin both literally and metaphorically and practice ahimsa (non-violence) both on and off the mat. We learn to stretch and remove any tension from bur body. Metaphorically by getting to know ourselves better from the inside out. The ways in which yoga can help you to fall in love with you is by helping to identity how you talk about and to ourselves.

By beginning to know Ourselves better we are more in the moment, the here and the now. We are really able t listen to what we want and see how important life is and how we can be the best and authentic version of ourselves. This will happen when we go beyond thee physical practice of yoga allowing the internal journey of positive self-transformation to begin  Providing the opportunity of greater and self-love not only to ourselves but to others as well. At its core, yoga is a practice that promote acceptance and a mind-body connection. But for people of a certain size, it can be anything but. That is why Curve Some Yoga is so passionate about showing that ‘every body is a yoga body By appreciating what your body enables you to DO rather than what it looks like You will begin to love yourself regardless of the condition or shape of your body, you’ll begin to love and be more accepting of others regardless of their shape and condition of their bodies.

Yoga is a way to go from body-bashing to body- loving, helping you to not only transform your relationship with your body but also with your mind. From wishing your body was different to seeing how amazing it ist It’s all in the approach. Allowing you to tune into your body’s need without judgment and quieten your mind gaining self- awareness and confidence. Yoga transformation through asana and meditatioon helps you to transform your relationship with your body and yourself. T am already well into my journey of loving and accepting my body. But with yoga, it gives me a chance to tap into the parts that I don’t see, the parts of my body I can’t dress up. But feeling that difference after doing a class with Donna is something that helps me realize how I want to be, I want this feeling to have more of a presence in my life. For me, yoga is more of an internal journey to loving the inside and not Just the Outside of your body I genuinely feel happier when I do yoga (Francesca Thomas)

Whatever your struggles, whatever issues you have about your self-image, yoga shows you how to trust your own body and its ability to teach you what’s best for you. Allowing us to see that all the things that we need are within us taking us from the outside- in approach. Simply put, yoga is a great teacher of love and a great natural remedy for a lot of the baggage we bring with us sometimes to the yoga mat. Much like yoga, if you can learn to accept your life as a practice rather than striving for perfection, you allow yourself to be authentic and thrive You are everything you need to be right now.
