Q: With the fluctuating temperatures and warm air, how can prāṇāyāma support my respiratory health and keep me grounded in both mind and body during the August transition? Are there specific breathing exercises or techniques you would recommend for calming the nervous system and harmonising energy as we move into autumn? My wife and I both practise haṭha yoga and attend weekly classes.

A – Prāṇāyāma is excellent for respiratory support and energetic balance during seasonal change. Ujjāyī breath calms the nervous system and releases excess heat. Nāḍī Śodhana helps balance vāta and reduces anxiety or restlessness. To counteract internal heat and dryness, practise Śītalī (cooling breath), which also promotes hydration.
These practices regulate energy flow, helping you and your wife maintain equilibrium as the seasons shift.
