Q: My wife is 67 years old and in good health. I’ve heard that yoga involves some connection to energy centres in the body. How does that relate to mental well-being. Just curious as I don’t understand how this process works?

A: Yoga works with Chakras (energy centres), which align with different aspects of your physical and emotional health. For mental clarity, focus on the Ajna Chakra (third eye), located between the eyebrows. Practice Bhrumadhya Drishti (gaze at the eyebrow centre) during meditation, closing your eyes and visualising a glowing indigo light. For emotional balance, work with the Anahata Chakra by practicing heart-opening poses like Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose) or gently tapping the chest area with your fingertips to stimulate energy flow.
